Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival – Ahmedabad

As you arrive at the Ahmedabad airport, our representative will attend to you and transfer you to the hotel booked by the tour. Ahmedabad is one of the main hubs in the state of Gujarat for traditional and contemporary textiles. Few crafts thrive at Ahmedabad as narrative paintings and block paintings on Mata-Ni-Pachedi cloth. Staying facilities are arranged in the hotel.

Day 02: Ahmedabad

After breakfast take a tour to the Calico Museum of Textile and handicrafts of Gujarat. Ahmedabad is the most important commercial city of India that is visited by a large number of people for business activities. The Calico Museum of Gujarat is famous for the collection of rich sites in terms of displaying some regional embroidery from the 19th century. It has got its antiquity and uniqueness of displaying beautiful designs. The museum consists of woven, fabrics, spun, printed and painted in India from many years. Later visit other museums of handicraft and textiles of Ahmedabad. Overnight staying facilities are arranged.

Day 03: Ahmedabad >> Gondal

Drive to Sayla in the morning which is situated at a distance of about 136 km from the main city, Ahmedabad. Stroll to nearby villages and explore the weavers at the work and observe the beadwork done by them. Enjoy your lunch at the hotel arranged by the tour. Precede your journey to Rajkot, the princely state of Gondal that is famous for silver jewelry, brassware and beadwork, silver crafts, handmade paintings on toy and excellent carvings on various materials. Visit some of the historical centers of handloom weaving. Return back to the hotel. Overnight facilities are arranged in Gondal. The rooms of the hotel are spectacularly decorated with the use of rich textile materials.

Day 04: Gondal >> Jetpur >> Junagadh >> Gondal

After breakfast, take an excursion to the famous workshop of screen & block paintings centre of wool dyeing at Jetpur. Continue your journey to Junagadh and visit some gem crusted carpets that were widely used during the Nawab’s era. Junagadh is famous as a medieval palace, Buddhist ruins and complexes forts and tombs. Return back to Gondal and enjoy overnight staying facilities.

Day 05: Gondal >> Bhuj

After breakfast drive to Bhuj to visit some of the main centers of rich textile collection of handmade craft techniques. On the way to Rajkot visit Watson Museum that truly reflects the rich and cultural heritage of Gujarat. Explore the dexterity of craftsmanship of Gujarat by visiting Rashtriya Shala. Later precede your journey to Bhuj. Overnight staying facilities are at the Bhuj hotel.

Day 06: Bhuj

After breakfast, get ready for a full day excursion at Bhuj. There are several small villages situated near Bhuj. These villages are famous for its handiwork and excellent embroidery methods such as printing forms of Rogan and Block and weaving. Return back to the hotel in the evening, relax and freshen up to enjoy the delicious food that includes Gujarati’s delicacy. Overnight staying facilities are arranged.

Day 07: Bhuj >> Mandvi

Transfer to Mandvi in the morning to explore the finest works of tie & dye methods. Staying facilities are arranged in the surprising beach resort. Take rest and get ready to enjoy delicious food for lunch. After lunch, our representative will take you for sightseeing the dhow building and visit the handmade boats of ocean near the beach. Overnight staying facilities are arranged at Mandvi.

Day 08: Mandvi

After morning breakfast, take a full day excursion at Mandvi. Visit all nearby villages of Mandvi famous for its pleasing house art called as Bhungas and Rabari embroidery. Enjoy your evening with the local people of Mandvi and explore their skills used for preparing excellent art work. Overnight staying facilities are arranged at the hotel.

Day 09: Mandvi >> Wadhwan

After your breakfast drive to Wadhwan, a small village located at a distance of about 310 km from Mandvi. It is well known for the finest work of weaving; metal crafts and Bandhani with the help of tie & dye technique. Overnight staying facilities are arranged at the royal palace of Wadhwan. Enjoy the services offered by the palace servants, which make you feel King Life in your won palace.

Day 10: Wadhwan >> Dasada

Have your breakfast and drive to Dasada from Wadhwan. The place is famous for endangered Asiatic wild Ass. On the arrival at Dasada, our representatives will transfer you to the hotel. Later you can visit the distinctive embroideries work crafted by women of Rabari. Take a tour to the Jeep Safari in the evening to explore the rich wildlife of “Little Rann of Kutch”. Day 11: Dasada >> Patan >> Modhera >> Dasada

Have a delicious breakfast in the morning and leave for another jeep safari to visit the wild ass sanctuary. Continue your journey to Patan to explore the Salvis working on Patola, which is considered for excellent silk textiles. Besides these you will love to watch the employment of technique called double-ikat for woven weaving. Visit the Sun Temple at Modhera built during the 11th century. It is one of the finest examples as it truly reflects the Hindu architecture. Return back to the hotel at Dasada and enjoy facilities provided by the tour.

Day 12: Dasada >> Ahmedabad >> Departure

Enjoy breakfast at Dasada hotel and get ready to drive to the Ahmedabad airport. Embark your flight from Ahmedabad to your onward destination. The handicrafts and textile tour of Gujarat ends here with eternal memories.
