Day 01: Hyderabad – Delhi

Alight on your flight/train to Delhi from Hyderabad. We are expecting your arrival at Delhi the next day.

Day 02: Arrive Delhi, Delhi – Rishikesh (230 km /7 hr)

Namaste! We would be delighted to assist you in this holy pilgrimage ahead. We will leave towards the holy city of Rishikesh by 10:00 pm. Overnight journey.

Day 03: Rishikesh – Barkot (200 km/7 hr)

We will reach Rishikesh by morning. After getting freshened up and enjoying the breakfast, indulge in sightseeing across the many wonders the holy city. These include Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Swarg Ashram, Sivananda Ashram and Geeta Ashram. One can then proceed to driving towards Barkot by the afternoon. The enchanting Kempty waterfalls fall on the route and we will halt here letting you enjoy its scenic beauty. Later, once we reach Barkot we will check in to the hotel at Barkot for overnight stay.

Day 04: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 km road/6 km trek)

We will drive you to Janki Chatti early in the morning. It is from here that the trek towards Yamunotri shrine begins. You can ascend the trail on your own or hire a pony/doli to assist you. Once you enter the vicinity of the holy shrine, prepare Prasadam by boiling potatoes/rice in its Surya Kund. Offer your obeisance at Divya Shila, which is believed to have been the site from where Maa Yamuna first sprung forth. After enjoying Yamuna Maiya’s Darshan, start trekking down towards Janki Chatti. Our driver will drive you to Barkot for overnight stay.

(Note: Pony costs around 1000 – 1500 Rs per person, while Doli charges approximately 3000-5000 per individual.)

Yamunotri Temple: The temple is built to honor the River near the site of her geographical origin. This revered seat of River Yamuna was first built in the eighteenth century, only to have it ravaged and rebuilt many a time following the many natural calamities it had to withstand.

Surya Kund: This hot water spring named after Goddess Yamuna’s father Sun God Surya is highly revered.

Day 05: Barkot – Uttarkashi (90 km /4 hr)

After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, we will move towards Uttarkashi. On the route, we will halt at the Shiva cave of Prakateswar Mahadev. Once in Uttarkashi, we know you won’t be able to wait to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Drive towards the hotel where you stay for overnight.

Uttarkashi: This holy city adorns the holy branches of Bhagirathi, mother of River Ganges. Local mythology suggests Lord Shiva to have resided in this sacred soil. The temple devoted To Shakti harboring the gigantic trident venerated as her own embodiment is situated just opposite to the Shiva temple.

Day 06: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km/4 hr)

Move towards Gangotri shrine located about 3,415 m above sea-level in the morning. We will move along the course of Bhagirathi River, receiving the gifts of the scenic beauty of Himalayan peaks on the way. One can take a dip in the holy waters of Bhagirathi River and perform pooja along its bank. Gangotri shrine not just houses Maa Ganga, but also Lord Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman and Bhagirath Maharaj. After being blessed by their divine darshan, one may let our driver bring you back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at hotel.

Harsil: This beautiful haven of astonishing scenic beauty has the serene Bhagirathi River coursing across its terrain, nurturing its verdant vegetation, dense forests and apple orchards.

Gangotri Temple: This age-old temple devoted to Goddess Ganga is built as to honour Maa Ganga’s origin near the site of her geographical origin.

Day 07: Uttarkashi – Sitapur (280 km /11 hr)

Our driver will take you to Sitapur. You may stay overnight at the reserved hotel.

Day 08: Sitapur – Kedarnath – Sitapur (19 km / 6 hr)

You will be dropped at Sonprayag from where the trek towards Kedarnath shrine begins. Start ascending towards Kedarnath temple on your own or by hiring a pony/doly for assistance. One can even employ helicopter service to fly you till Kedarnath shrine. One is advised to carry all the necessitate medication, heavy woolen clothing, toiletries and first-aid. After you enjoy the blissful darshan of Kedarnath, trek down and let the driver drop you till Sitapur. Overnight stay at hotel.

Kedarnath: The revered shrine of Kedarnath houses the beautiful Jyotirlingam of Lord Shiva. It is set against the majestic backdrop of Kedarnath mountain ranges. The site is said to have been where Pandavas sought reparation for their sins of the Kurukshetra war, only to be eluded by Lord Shiva as he disguised himself in the form of a bull. The bull, upon being recognized by Pandavas, plunged deep into the ground leaving its back in the form of a hump upon the surface. It is said that the remaining body parts were consequently found in four different places, namely Madhmaheswar, Tungnath, Rudranath and Kalpeshwar.

Day 09: Sitapur – Pipalkoti (120 km/6 hr)

Enjoy the day at leisure till afternoon. We will drive towards Pipalkoti at around 12.00 p.m. Check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Pipalkoti – Joshimath – Badrinath (80 km/4 hr)

We will start towards Badrinath Temple, halting at Narasimha Temple (Joshimath) and Vishnu Prayag in between. We will let you explore Mana village with its legendary Vyas Gufa, Saraswati River and Bhim Pul. After you check-in to the hotel, tread towards the temple’s sacred premises not before taking a holy dip in its Tapt Kund. The temple has devoted shrines not just to Badrinarayan, but also to Maa Lakshmi, Nar-Narayan, Hanuman Ji etc.

Badrinath: One of the ‘four dhams’, Badrinath is located at a stupendous height of 3,133 m. Nar, Narayan and Neelkanth peaks form a beautiful backdrop for this revered pilgrimage site. It is believed that the place was once shrouded in a Badri van, ‘forest of badri’.

Tapt Kund: This hot-water spring near the temple is where pilgrims bathe before they enter the temple to enjoy the darshan of Badrinarayan.

Brahmakapal: This flat platform upon the banks of River Alaknanda is the site for Hindus to perform religious rituals to offer heavenly assistance to their departed loved ones.

One can also enjoy visiting Charan paduka, which supposedly contains footprints of Lord Vishnu upon its famous rock. It is at a distance of 3 km from the temple. The Mata Murthy Temple dedicated to Badrinarayan’s mother is also a frequently visited site by pilgrims. The beautiful Mana village contains Vyas Gufa (the alleged site where Ved Vyas composed Mahabharata) and Bhim Pul (the natural bridge across River Saraswati which, as per local folklore, was placed across the river by Bhim).

Joshimath: This is the site for one of Adi Shankaracharya’s four maths. It sees the confluence of Dhauliganga and Alaknanda. The town is famous for its Narsimha temple.

Day 11: Badrinath – Srinagar (170 km/7 hr)

After enjoying the blissful darshan of Lord Badrinarayan once more, we will move towards Srinagar (not the one in Jammu and Kashmir!) while halting at each of the confluences at Nandprayag (Rivers Nandakini and Alaknanda), Karnaprayag ( Rivers Pinder and Alaknanda) and Rudraprayag (Rivers Mandakini and Alaknanda). Soak in the majesty and magic of the river confluences.

Day 12: Srinagar – Haridwar

On the twelfth day, we will drive towards Haridwar after enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. We will definitely halt to witness the mesmerizing confluence of mighty Alaknanda and serene Bhagirathi at Devprayag. It is from Devprayag that Ganga truly becomes Ganga. Once we reach Haridwar, we may enjoy our holy dip in the sacred waters of the river and take part in the spiritually uplifting Ganga ki aarti at Har-ki-Pauri. The aarti will truly leave you mesmerized! It won’t be long that you would long to come visit her again!

And the night would have us depart towards Delhi. Overnight journey.

Day 13: Arrival Delhi

We will arrive at Delhi by 5.00 in the morning.
