A Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Jaipur

A warm welcome by our tour guide awaits as you land in Jaipur and are then escorted to your hotel. He then rounds up everyone for local sightseeing starting with the Hawa Mahal, a trellised palace from where royal ladies would observe without being seen. A unique feature of Hawa Mahal is that a breeze is always blowing along its corridors. Then we go on to Jantar Mantar, the observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. You are then free to go shopping or explore the by lanes.

Day 2: Jaipur Excursions

Enjoy a spicy Rajasthani breakfast and set out on an excursion of Jaipur and its surroundings starting with a visit to the historic Amber Fort. The fort complex houses fabulous palaces now turned into museums that give you a glimpse into the royal lifestyles of the rulers. From Amber we move to the more modern City Palace, a perfect fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. Later we go for a trip into the lanes and for shopping and snacking on spicy stuff for which Rajasthan is so well known.

Day 3: Jaipur-Pushkar

Take in some breakfast before boarding the coach for the 145 km drive to Pushkar, home to the Brahma temple and a site where a fair is held each year. The Brahma temple is rare in as much as it is one of the very few such temples dedicated to Brahma. Walk by the Pushkar Lake and enjoy the rustic flavor of this sleepy town.

Day 4: Pushkar-Udaipur

A zesty breakfast puts you in the mood for the 145 km drive to Udaipur where you check into your room. You can explore Udaipur in the evening and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the bazaars.

Day 5: Udaipur Sightseeing

Morning breakfast over, it is time to discover what beauties this City of Lakes and the Venice of the East has to offer. There are a number of palaces to visit starting with the City Palace and then the Lake Palace as well as the Jag Mandir. Then we visit the Sahelion Ki Bari and the folk art museum. Stay overnight.

Day 6: Udaipur to Delhi

Savor your breakfast and gather with the others to board the train that will take you to Delhi where the tour comes to an end.
