Guwahati is the capital of Assam and is the most important city of the state. It is situated in central Assam and is perhaps the top most place for people to come and unwind. Guwahati contains some of the most favorite temples of the travellers and visitors, some of which are the famous Shiva Temple, the Bhuvaneshwari Temple and the Kamakhya Temple. These temples are very pleasing to the eyes of the tourists and give them a feeling of support and peace. This city has a zoo which is commonly referred as the Guwahati Zoo. The zoo consists of a variety of plants and animals and is also considered to be the biggest natural zoo of the whole nation.<\/p>\n
Hajo<\/strong><\/p>\n Hajo is a social heritage town in the state and is situated at a space of about twenty four kilometres from Guwahati. It is considered to be a sacred and holy site for the Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists. This is the place which demonstrates excellent community-based compatibility and friendliness. Hajo also has a mosque, commonly referred to as the \u2018Poa Mecca\u2019 and many other different old and historical temples.<\/p>\n Digboi<\/strong><\/p>\n Digboi is a city which is located in the northern part of the state and is another important city among others. Also known as the oil city of Assam, it contains the world\u2019s most aged oil well that started functioning in 1901 and has been running since then. Today, this famous oil well of Digboi is not only considered an oil provider, but also for an oil museum and the glory, aura and honor of all those clubs and golf courses which were founded here by the Britishers. Digboi is also store to a war memorial park and the Namdapha Park and Dibru Saikhowa Wildlife Sanctuary.<\/p>\n Haflong<\/strong><\/p>\n Haflong is a colorful and charming hill station of Assam and is famous for its rainbows which can be seen down under. It is world famous, also for the reason that a place called Jatinga is located only about ten kilometres from here. Jatinga is known world-wide for the fact that its migrant birds perpetrate self-annihilation in large numbers.<\/p>\n These migratory birds come here from the months of August till November and can be seen plunging and falling down to their own deaths from a high-rise observation point or building. This is an undetermined process and a big mystery till now and scientists and researchers all over the world have not been able to give a suitable reason for this strange behavior of theirs.<\/p>\n Kaziranga National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n The Kaziranga National Park is situated on the southerly slopes and reserves of the River Brahmaputra and the majority part of its regional area pursues the Mora Diphlu River and moves collateral with the National Highway Number 37. This national park spans across a land region of about six hundred and eighty eight square kilometres and was founded in 1908. It is a woodland and wildlife unit and area with about twelve rhinos and was proclaimed as a national park in 1974. It is more popular for having the great rhinos which are one horned.<\/p>\n Manas National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n The Manas National Park is located in Assam and is distributed across a land region of around three hundred and ninety one square kilometres. It was initially called Kamrup and was proclaimed as a national park and wildlife sanctuary in 1928. It was imparted and conformed to the status of a global heritage spot in 1985 and is store to this nation\u2019s top nineteen vulnerable animal species.<\/p>\n It is also famous for housing the most number of tigers compared to other national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in India. This park also consists of the golden Langur, which is very uncommon in nature. Some of the other striking and spectacular animals which roam around freely here are elephants, buffalos, leopards and deer.<\/p>\n Chandubi Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n The Chandubi Lake is a biological and lively lake and is also one of the most popular and favorite picnic spots for the travellers and tourists from all across the globe. It is located at a distance of about sixty four kilometres from the capital city of Assam state and is unkept and rugged by woodlands and various kinds of rough geological formations and similar drop-offs.<\/p>\n It is a perfect vacationing resort and has bonus advantages of boating and sport-fishing as well. It can be reached easily by the tourists by using buses from Guwahati, and the most likely time to come here, watch its natural beauty and relax is from November to April.<\/p>\n Sualkuchi<\/strong><\/p>\n It is located at a space of around twenty-four kilometers from the capital city of Assam. It is well known for its rich textile and fabric manufacture, commercial enterprises and industries and rare chromatic silk of Assam, which is not manufactured and developed anywhere else all around the globe.<\/p>\n Agnigarh<\/strong><\/p>\n It is situated in the town of Tezpur and gives a charming and magnetizing eyeshot and appeal of the Tezpur town and Brahmaputra River to the tourists and visitors.<\/p>\n Majuli Island<\/strong><\/p>\n This piece of dry land is located in the interior and inside of Brahmaputra River and carries the unique quality of being the biggest river island of the world. More than fifteen Vaishnava cloisters and similarly oriented religious residences are situated on this island. Its spiritual nature and affluent and flushed wildlife attract multiple numbers of travellers, visitors and tourists from all across the globe.<\/p>\n Sibsagar<\/strong><\/p>\n It is one of the ancient cities of Assam and the world as well and has the two hundred year old Sibsagar Storage Reserve in its Middlefield.
