Dhanushkondi is the place which is at the bottom line of Pamban Island and the bridge or series of the island which links directly to Sri Lanka. Lord Rama built the bridge called \u201cRam Setu\u201d or \u201cAdam\u2019s Bridge\u201d Well, in the year 1964, the town of Dhanushkondi was destroyed due to the cyclone which left the town abandoned till now. But now the place is open for all. Whereas Rameshwaram is a town in Tamil Nadu, the distance between Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi is only 16 km.<\/p>\n

Rameshwaram is also a Hindu pilgrimage site, the Ramanathaswamy temple is quite a famous one. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it was built somewhere near 12th century. One should definitely visit the site as it is one of the best places to visit in South India.<\/p>\n
