One could reach Amarnath by road easily as taxis and buses ply almost regularly between Jammu and Pahalgam, one of the base camps for Amarnath Yatra. Also from Srinagar you could avail taxis and buses to reach the Yatra base camp of Pahalgam. Srinagar and Jammu are well connected by road way to all major Indian cities like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai and so one could easily reach Srinagar and Jammu from any corner of the nation before embarking on the Amarnath Yatra.

Amarnath Yatra Distance Guide to Pahalgam base camp from Srinagar & Jammu

The distance between Srinagar to Pahalgam is about 98 kms and between Jammu and Pahalgam is about 285 kms. Srinagar and Jammu can be reached easily via road from the major neighboring cities. Srinagar is 467 kms away from Amritsar and Jammu is 203kms away from the same. Srinagar is about 593kms from Chandigarh and Jammu is about 341 kms from the same. Srinagar is about 854kms from Delhi and Jammu is about 602 kms from the same. Srinagar is about 2187 kms from Mumbai and Jammu is about 1971 kms from the same. Another route for Amarnath Yatra is via Baltal. The trek distance to be covered is approximately 14kms. This is a comparatively shorter route but demands an arduous trek on the part of the pilgrims. Buses and taxis are available from Jammu and Srinagar to reach the Baltal base camp. Baltal is about 400 kms from Jammu by road and is 93 kms from Srinagar. The Baltal trek route map is as follows:
